A 33-year-old man has been remanded in custody for four weeks by the Court in Aarhus following allegations of rape that occurred on Friday morning in Tranbjerg, a suburb of Aarhus, Denmark. East Jutland Police (Østjyllands Politi) reports that the case involves both violence and threats against a woman known to the accused.

The charges describe the incident as particularly dangerous, as the woman was physically assaulted and threatened with her life. Prosecutor Birgitte Ernst has confirmed that details regarding the case will not be released, as the preliminary hearing was conducted behind closed doors.

The accused, who was arrested shortly after the report was made at approximately 8:30 AM, denies the charges and has appealed the ruling to the High Court (Landsretten).
