Authorities in Copenhagen intervened on Sunday and shut down a private gathering in Tingbjerg before it could even begin. This decision was made due to concerns that an ongoing gang conflict could escalate and result in violent incidents. Deputy Police Inspector Simon Hansen stated that the police chose to cancel the event based on an assessment that serious violent occurrences could arise.
The area was heavily monitored by police officers equipped with bulletproof vests and other safety gear. Additionally, helicopter support was utilized to provide a clearer overview of the situation and to track who arrived at the gathering and how many attendees there were. Hansen was unable to provide specific details but emphasized the importance of managing the participants.
According to the police, the increased presence was motivated by a conflict between the gang Loyal to Familia (LTF) and a Danish-Swedish alliance involving foreign backers. The police did not directly consider whether local residents were at risk, focusing primarily on the potential for violence. Simon Hansen explained that the event was never allowed to commence, thanks to the police’s proactive efforts and significant presence, which ensured that no one attempted to start the gathering despite the circumstances.
