On Monday morning, residents near Egedal Centre in Stenløse experienced a dramatic incident when a suspicious object was discovered. Following the finding of the object, the police quickly evacuated the centre and its surroundings. The situation was centered around the Danske Bank branch, where the object was found in a mailbox.
The police raised the alarm and called in the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) service to inspect the potentially dangerous object. This intervention resulted in extensive cordons that affected both the shopping centre and nearby residents.
After several hours of careful investigations and intense speculation, North Zealand Police (Nordsjællands Politi) revealed on the social media platform X that there was no danger present. The object turned out to be a bag containing beeping wireless earbuds of the AirPods brand.
At 12:10 PM, the police were able to conclude their efforts at the scene and lift the imposed cordons, bringing relief to the evacuated area. The swift and thorough actions taken by both the police and the EOD service ensured that the potential threat was managed effectively and competently.
