On Monday morning, police arrived in large numbers at Egedal Center in Stenløse, Denmark, following reports of a suspicious object. Authorities chose to cordon off parts of the shopping center and urged the public to keep their distance while they launched an investigation into the situation. As a precautionary measure, nearby residents were evacuated, and no further comments were provided regarding the situation at that time.
Shortly before 11 a.m., the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team arrived at the scene to assess the suspicious object. Many people in the vicinity watched anxiously as bomb disposal experts worked to determine the object’s nature and any potential danger it posed.
Around noon, however, the North Zealand Police (Nordsjællands Politi) were finally able to reassure the public. They posted on social media platform X, stating that it was simply a case of unfortunate misunderstanding. The suspicious object turned out to be a bag containing some beeping AirPods, which had been left in a mailbox. The police concluded their efforts, and the cordons were lifted shortly thereafter.
While the incident caused concern among local residents, everyone was relieved to learn that the perceived threat was unfounded. Fortunately, the situation ended with a false alarm, and the shopping center returned to normal operations later that same day.
