On Tuesday, a 15-year-old boy was placed in pre-trial detention for 27 days after being arrested by the police on Monday evening in the Nørrebro district of Copenhagen while carrying a loaded handgun. The arrest occurred near the Korsgadehallen, a local community center. The Copenhagen Police’s prosecutors announced the news via the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter).
The young boy, who is a Danish citizen, is now charged with firearms possession. This incident adds to a series of similar cases in which particularly Swedish boys have been arrested in Denmark, suspected of weapons-related crimes and attempted murder.
The police have not yet disclosed whether this specific case is connected to the ongoing conflict between two criminal groups in the area. According to the National Unit for Special Criminality (NSK), there is currently an intensive gang conflict involving the banned Danish gang Loyal To Familia (LTF) and another unnamed group.
