Mid and West Jutland Police (Midt- og Vestjyllands Politi) are currently facing a surge of reports from citizens receiving suspicious phone calls featuring a robotic voice from Danish numbers. The police are now warning the public to hang up and ignore the instructions given during these calls.
Through social media, Mid and West Jutland Police have urged people not to contact them unless they have genuinely been defrauded. This initiative is aimed at allowing the police to focus on other important tasks and phone calls.
“If you receive a strange call with a robotic voice, hang up immediately. We are currently receiving many reports of unusual calls from Danish numbers. Please refrain from reporting unless you have been scammed. We need to prioritize our resources,” stated Mid and West Jutland Police on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
Similarly, North Jutland Police (Nordjyllands Politi) have reported the same issue and warned on social media against disclosing personal or financial information during these calls. “It’s a scam; hang up the phone,” they advised.
If you have fallen victim to a scam, you are encouraged to contact the police at phone number 114.
