Train passengers traveling between Aarhus and Hobro will need to exercise a bit more patience, as the planned resumption of train services has been postponed. Originally, trains were scheduled to resume operation between Aarhus and Hobro starting Friday; however, normal service will now not resume until Sunday morning.
In a press release, Banedanmark (the Danish railway infrastructure manager) explained that the work to implement a new signaling system north of Aarhus is taking longer than anticipated. Previously, it was planned for train services to have resumed between Aarhus and Hadsten earlier this week, with an extension to Hobro starting Friday. Passengers will now have to wait a little longer.
Throughout the summer and autumn, Banedanmark has initiated several major infrastructure projects on the route between Aarhus and Hjörring. Among these projects are the testing and implementation of a new signaling system between Frederikshavn and Aarhus, the installation of masts and overhead lines for electric trains between Aarhus and Aalborg, as well as the construction of a new double track south of Hjörring. Additionally, the platform at Brønderslev Station is being upgraded.
Passengers are advised to stay updated through the websites of DSB (the Danish State Railways), GoCollective, Nordjyske Jernbaner (North Jutland Railways), and Rejseplanen (the travel planning service), which will provide ongoing information regarding current train operations.
