Young People from Sweden Commit Serious Crimes in Denmark, Warns Justice Minister Peter Hummelgaard
At a summer group meeting of the Social Democrats (Socialdemokratiet) in Vejle, Danish Justice Minister Peter Hummelgaard issued a warning regarding an alarming trend: young individuals from Sweden are increasingly involved in serious criminal activities in Denmark. He highlighted several incidents where Swedish criminals have received substantial payments for carrying out violent acts, including murder, within Danish borders.
Hummelgaard pointed out that this issue is not confined to Denmark alone, but is a problem affecting the entire Nordic region, exacerbated by what he labeled as Sweden’s failed immigration and law enforcement policies over many years. He emphasized the severity of the issue, revealing that he is conducting interviews with Swedish media to dissuade Swedish children and young adults from engaging in criminal behavior in Denmark.
The Minister’s message is clear: Denmark enforces much stricter penalties than Sweden, coupled with a high rate of case resolution. He believes that young people within Sweden’s gang environments and their communities may not fully grasp the serious ramifications of committing crimes in Denmark.
As a result, Hummelgaard has issued a stern warning to Swedish youth about the harsh penalties in Denmark, aiming to prevent them from being recruited into violent criminal activities across the border.
