A 23-year-old man from Holbæk has been remanded in custody for four weeks following accusations of serious violence, threats, and attempted murder against his girlfriend. The prosecution service of the Mid and West Zealand Police (Midt- og Vestsjællands Politi) reported that the incident occurred two days ago, during which the man allegedly struck his girlfriend multiple times and threatened her with a firearm.
The man was presented in a preliminary hearing at the Court in Holbæk on Thursday but declined to make any statements in court. According to the prosecution, the man also claimed that he is not guilty of the charges.
The prosecution alleges that the man pulled the trigger of the gun while holding it against the woman’s head, but the gun misfired without discharging a bullet. This dramatic event was subsequently followed up by police intervention, which apprehended the suspect on Wednesday evening at 8:05 PM in Jyderup, a town near Holbæk.
Additionally, a charge has been filed against him for possession of an illegal weapon, as he was reportedly in possession of the firearm during the incident. The accused now has a two-week period to consider whether he will appeal his remand to the Eastern High Court (Østre Landsret).
