A 41-year-old Danish man has been remanded in custody for an initial four weeks in connection with a case involving the possession of two hand grenades, which police allege were intended for criminal purposes in Copenhagen. Following a preliminary hearing at the Frederiksberg Court (Retten på Frederiksberg), police revealed that the man is suspected of providing economic and practical support to a 25-year-old Swedish man. The Swedish individual was arrested earlier this week while in possession of the dangerous grenades.
Investigation leader Knud Hvass from the Copenhagen Police (Københavns Politi) has confirmed that the 41-year-old is linked to a gang environment, though he has not disclosed which group. The charges against the Danish man include the transfer of the grenades to the Swedish individual, as well as financial support and providing accommodation. However, it remains uncertain whether more arrests will be made in this case, although police have not ruled out this possibility.
The court hearing was closed to the public in consideration of the ongoing investigation. The Danish man denies all allegations against him.
