A 21-year-old woman has been sentenced to one year in prison and one year of a nightlife ban after stabbing an 18-year-old man in the chest with a knife, reported the South and Southern Jutland Police (Syd- og Sønderjyllands Politi). The verdict was issued on Thursday and pertains to an incident that occurred on May 5 of this year at a pub in Haderslev, a town in Denmark.
The altercation began around 1:25 AM, and the woman, who had been called to the scene, ended up seriously injuring the man. The stabbing resulted in a punctured lung for the 18-year-old, who was unknown to the woman prior to the incident.
The woman pleaded not guilty to the knife attack, but the case also included an incident from July 2023, where she hit another woman in the head in Vojens, another town in Denmark. This 21-year-old has a prior conviction for violence and threats, and the new sentence of one year in prison is to be served consecutively with her previous sentence.
She has been in custody since May 5, 2024, and will remain in detention following the verdict. This case highlights a serious matter where a young man’s life was put in jeopardy amidst the nightlife.
