On Friday morning, a 25-year-old man, identified as a member of a Danish gang, will appear in court regarding charges of possession of hand grenades. The young man is accused of being involved in an incident where a 25-year-old Swedish national was arrested earlier this week for possessing hand grenades, which he allegedly planned to detonate in Copenhagen. This information was released by the Copenhagen Police, who shared the news on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
On Thursday, another individual, a 41-year-old man, was also detained in connection with the same case. The preliminary hearing for the 25-year-old Danish man is scheduled for Friday at 09:30 AM at the Frederiksberg Court, where he will be presented with a demand for pre-trial detention.
The Swedish national was apprehended on Tuesday evening in Tingbjerg, a suburb of Copenhagen, where he was found with two hand grenades. Images from the scene show an individual in a light blue biomedical suit being escorted into a police vehicle. Police dogs and ammunition specialists (Explosive Ordnance Disposal – EOD) were also present, as confirmed by the Copenhagen Police to the news outlet B.T.
The 25-year-old Swedish suspect is one among several Swedish citizens who have been arrested and charged with crimes in Denmark in recent months.
