Another Danish Citizen Involved in Case Linked to Swedish Man Arrested with Grenades
A 25-year-old Danish citizen has been implicated in a case involving a Swedish individual who was arrested earlier this week while in possession of hand grenades. According to the Copenhagen Police (Københavns Politi), the Danish suspect is charged with complicity and is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing at the Frederiksberg Court (Retten på Frederiksberg). The police have indicated that the suspect is a member of a gang.
The Swedish man was apprehended on Tuesday in Tingbjerg, a district in Copenhagen, with two hand grenades in his possession. Investigators suspect that he received these grenades from an unknown individual. Previously in the case, a 41-year-old Danish man was also imprisoned. The police consider these arrests to be part of an escalating gang conflict that is occurring on the streets of Copenhagen, where the Danish gang Loyal to Familia (LTF) is in conflict with another, unnamed group that includes both Danish and Swedish members.
In recent months, there has been a rise in the number of Swedes arrested in Denmark for weapons and explosives possession. For instance, two Swedish individuals were recently arrested and charged with attempted murder after allegedly throwing a hand grenade into a kiosk in the Østerbro area. Additionally, several others have been arrested with firearms.
Reports from the Danish tabloid B.T. indicate that authorities have come into possession of so-called “death lists,” which suggest a direct conflict between LTF and a notorious Swedish gang leader known as “Jordbærret” (Strawberry). This ongoing conflict has led to an atmosphere of insecurity in the affected neighborhoods, and law enforcement is actively working to regain control of the situation.
