Police investigate suspicious death in Aarhus after finding deceased man in lake

The police are investigating a suspicious death in Aarhus following the discovery of a deceased man in a lake. East Jutland Police (Østjyllands Politi) are potentially facing a criminal case after a lifeless man was found in a lake near the old Marselisborg Hospital in Aarhus.

On Sunday, the police were alerted by a local resident who had spotted the man in the water at Skanderborgvej. Duty Officer René Ludvig from East Jutland Police reported that the finding in the lake is being treated as a suspicious death. This classification is due to specific circumstances surrounding the man’s position in the water as well as various personal belongings left at the scene.

When a death is considered suspicious, it means that police cannot rule out the possibility of a crime having occurred. Consequently, a comprehensive investigation has been initiated to ensure that any evidence is not lost.

The entire area has been examined by forensic experts, criminal technicians, and experienced investigators who have been called in to assist with the inquiry. Although the police have located an identification card near the deceased, the man’s identity has not yet been officially confirmed, and his relatives have not been notified.
