Østjylland Police is currently present at Marselisborg Hospital in Aarhus, Denmark, where a deceased man was discovered in a lake located in the hospital’s park on Sunday morning. The body was found by a passerby around 10:45 AM.
According to duty officer René Ludvig, the death is being treated as suspicious due to certain observations made at the scene. These observations include the position of the deceased in the water and some personal items found nearby. These factors have prompted the police to investigate the death with heightened scrutiny.
On Sunday afternoon, the police released a statement on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), informing the public that they are still active in the area and will continue their investigation “for some time.” They are also seeking assistance from the public and are encouraging any witnesses who may have seen anything unusual in the park to contact them via telephone number 114.
At this time, the identity of the deceased has not been definitively established, though an ID card was found at the scene. The next of kin have not yet been informed.
To ensure that no significant evidence is lost, the police have summoned forensic experts, crime scene technicians, and an investigative unit to the area around the lake. The presence of these specialists indicates that the police are taking the situation very seriously and are working intensively to clarify the circumstances surrounding the death.
