A 48-year-old Polish man without a permanent residence was found dead in a waterhole near Skanderborgvej in Aarhus on Sunday morning. Police have reported that the death is being investigated as suspicious due to certain circumstances surrounding the discovery, which have raised concerns.
Two men, aged 35 and 40, were arrested in connection with the incident. The first arrest took place at 1:45 PM, while the second man was apprehended later in the afternoon. Authorities are continuing to probe the potential connection between the two men and the deceased.
According to Deputy Police Inspector Flemming Nørgaard from East Jutland Police (Østjyllands Politi), a significant effort has been underway at the scene since Sunday morning. Police have conducted interviews with neighbors and passersby, as well as individuals who frequently visit the area around the waterhole.
The cause of death has not yet been determined, as authorities are awaiting an autopsy report. The deceased, who did not show immediate signs of violence or assault, was found by a passerby. Firefighters subsequently retrieved the lifeless man from the water, and a doctor declared him dead at the scene.
The police received the report about the discovery at 10:46 AM, and shortly after, several patrol units and ambulances arrived at the location. The investigation continues to uncover the sequence of events and the roles of those involved.
