Danish train operations between Aarhus and Langå have been significantly reduced due to eight severed cables, as reported by Banedanmark, the national railway infrastructure manager. The incident occurred Monday morning during a large renewal project where a new signaling system was being installed.

As a result, GoCollective trains, previously known as Arriva, are not operating on that route for the remainder of the day. Danish State Railways (DSB) anticipates resuming their services by the evening. Banedanmark advises passengers to stay updated through the travel planning apps Rejseplanen and MitTog for the latest information regarding train traffic.

Despite the cables being repaired, there are still ongoing signaling issues, which are delaying the normalization of operations. DSB is working diligently to deploy staff and equipment. Should problems persist into Tuesday, Banedanmark will provide further updates to passengers.

GoCollective has faced criticism for numerous train cancellations. In June, this resulted in a written order from authorities to reduce the number of cancellations by the end of 2024. Earlier this year, GoCollective canceled 80 train departures in Jutland over a five-day period, attributing the disruptions to the need for extensive maintenance on their trains.

In the spring, Arriva rebranded to GoCollective after being acquired by the investment firm Mutares, and the company remains Denmark’s largest private operator in bus and train transportation.
