On Monday evening, a spectacular celestial event will light up the night sky over Denmark as a supermoon makes its appearance. According to the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI), the weather will be clear enough in most parts of the country to fully enjoy this sight. Jesper Eriksen, a meteorologist on duty at DMI, states that a beautiful view is expected in most locations, although scattered clouds may appear in central Denmark.
The day has presented mild weather with varying sunshine and temperatures ranging between 18 and 22 degrees Celsius (64 to 72 degrees Fahrenheit). The supermoon is set to reach its peak at 20:26 (8:26 PM), just before sunset at 20:36 (8:36 PM). A supermoon occurs when a full moon coincides with the time the Moon is closest to Earth, causing it to appear up to 14 percent larger and significantly brighter, as explained by NASA.
The weather forecast will shift focus on Tuesday, with a southerly wind bringing warmer temperatures between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius (68 to 77 degrees Fahrenheit). While the daytime is expected to remain mostly dry, a cold front moving in from the west later in the evening into Wednesday morning may result in localized thunderstorms. Wednesday’s weather will be characterized by a mix of sunny spells and showers, with temperatures ranging from 18 to 20 degrees Celsius (64 to 68 degrees Fahrenheit).
Thursday is expected to be unstable but mostly dry, while the weather on Friday remains uncertain. A tropical cyclone located far out in the Atlantic is disrupting weather systems in Northern Europe, creating unpredictability for the weekend’s conditions. Jesper Eriksen notes that we can expect weather fronts with rain leading up to Friday, but there is also a possibility that warmer weather may take over, making it challenging to predict the exact weather for that day.
