On Wednesday morning, four men will appear before a judge charged with smuggling significant amounts of hashish into Denmark. The individuals, all connected to gang environments, were arrested in various locations across the country on Tuesday. According to the National Unit for Special Crime (NSK), these men range in age from 22 to 30 and are suspected of collaborating to smuggle a total of 1.2 tons of hashish into Denmark.
The arrests took place in Southeast Jutland, Southern Jutland, and the western suburbs of Copenhagen, where the police also conducted searches at several addresses. The drugs are believed to have been brought into the country with the intention of distributing them further within Denmark.
A fifth suspect, a 28-year-old man who is not present in Denmark, has been imprisoned in absentia. He is suspected of having participated in the smuggling of 180 kilograms of hashish along with the four individuals currently in police custody.
The arrested individuals will face the court at the Frederiksberg Court (Retten på Frederiksberg) this Wednesday morning. The operation was executed in close cooperation with the Southeast Jutland Police (Sydøstjyllands Politi).
