Denmark to Host World’s Largest Scout Camp in 2031 in Silkeborg

Denmark has been honored to host the world’s largest scouting event, the World Scout Jamboree, scheduled for 2031. This prestigious event is expected to gather up to 50,000 scouts from around the globe in the city of Silkeborg. The Danish scouting movement, which has been working diligently towards this goal, announced that Denmark was selected during the global scouting movement’s assembly in Egypt.

The competition to host the jamboree was intense. Denmark faced a strong coalition including the United States, Kenya, Egypt, Bangladesh, and Ecuador, all of which aimed to hold the scouting camp in the United States. Despite this formidable competition, Denmark successfully secured the hosting rights.

Ida Mikkelsen, one of the volunteers who dedicated significant efforts to attract the jamboree to Denmark, expressed great joy and pride over the selection. According to her, this is a unique opportunity for Denmark and the Danish scouting movement to showcase how they work to empower young people through responsibility and special skills.

With this award, scouts in Denmark are looking forward to an exciting and eventful year in 2031, when Silkeborg becomes the focal point for a global celebration of scouting life.
