A 32-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following a violent altercation in Greve, a suburb of Copenhagen, on Wednesday evening. During the incident, a man of similar age was stabbed in the neck with a knife and was initially in critical condition. However, according to the Mid and West Zealand Police (Midt- og Vestsjællands Politi), intensive treatment at the hospital has now stabilized the victim, who is no longer in life-threatening condition.
The brawl broke out at an address in Kildehuset, an area in Greve, where police received an alarm at 9:22 PM. Upon arrival, officers provided first aid to the victim before he was transported to the hospital. Subsequently, police launched an extensive investigation that included witness interviews, gathering video surveillance, and conducting searches with dogs.
The investigation led to the arrest of the 32-year-old man in Glostrup, another nearby suburb, shortly after 11 PM. Authorities are currently working to determine the motive behind the stabbing but have not yet found any links to gang-related activities.
The arrested individual is expected to be questioned throughout the day, after which prosecutors will assess whether there are grounds for custody.
