A 43-year-old man has been seriously injured after being stabbed in a community garden in northern Odense on Saturday evening. The police received reports of the incident at 7:15 PM and immediately launched a search for the suspect, who was seen fleeing the scene.
According to Duty Officer Peter Vestergaard from the Funen Police (Fyns Politi), the police were able to locate and arrest the suspected perpetrator, a 37-year-old man, who was apprehended in the community garden during the night following an intensive search.
The two men are known to each other, but details regarding the motive behind the attack have not yet been disclosed. The Duty Officer stated that the 43-year-old man has sustained injuries that require medical treatment and is in serious condition. However, precise information about where on his body he was stabbed has not been released.
The investigation is now focused on mapping out the sequence of events and the motive behind the assault. The presumed perpetrator is scheduled to appear at a preliminary hearing at the Court in Odense (Retten i Odense) at 2 PM on Sunday.
