A 17-year-old hairdressing apprentice, who was working in a hair salon, was shot and killed by two masked gunmen. This brutal act was recorded by the surveillance camera of the salon and shown in Glostrup Court on Monday morning, where three men are charged with the murder that took place at the salon Yomok, located at Islev Torv in Rødovre Municipality on December 3, 2021.
Special prosecutor Rasmus Kim Petersen from the Copenhagen West Police (Københavns Vestegns Politi) warned prior to the screening about the graphic nature of the video footage. The prosecution had carefully considered the display and consulted with the victim’s relatives, who had no objections.
In the video, the perpetrators can be seen arriving at the salon at a brisk pace, dressed in black and masked. A camera inside the salon shows how they immediately draw their guns upon entry and aim them at their victims. The young apprentice was shot at very close range while he was cutting the hair of a 15-year-old boy, who was also injured but managed to escape. The salon owner was shot from a few meters away and could not escape.
Rasmus Kim Petersen described during the court session how a comprehensive police investigation, based on surveillance footage, license plate recognition, DNA evidence, and telecommunications data, led to the three accused men. According to the prosecution, the shooting is part of a gang conflict, with the accused allegedly connected to a former gang known as NNV.
The defendants deny the charges against them. A verdict is expected on October 31.
