On Monday, police were present in Nørre Vorupør, where two German boys were buried in a landslide on Sunday. Despite the tragic event, the most pressing question among tourists and locals visiting the Mid and West Jutland Police (Midt- og Vestjyllands Politi) mobile station was about the boys’ condition. Deputy Inspector Bjørn Nørgaard Bo stated that many people were seeking updates on the boys’ status, but the police were unable to provide any new information. The boys, aged 9 and 12, were hospitalized in critical condition after being buried for approximately 40 minutes.

The police mobile station was staffed from 9 AM to 3 PM, with the focus not on the number of visitors, but on providing accurate advice. This included referrals to victim support services and local doctors for those who were close to the incident. The Deputy Inspector emphasized that the police presence was important for both locals and tourists who were shaken by the event at the beach.

One of the individuals who aided in the rescue was Henning Nockel, a German surfer who helped free the boys. Nockel described how he instinctively began to dig when he heard about the accident.

The area where the incident took place has been cordoned off while police investigate the matter and assess whether the closure should remain in effect. Preliminary investigations suggest that the boys had dug a cave in the dunes, which may have triggered the landslide. The police continue to work on clarifying the entire sequence of events.
