The Danish royal family will not be attending the wedding of Norwegian Princess Märtha Louise this Saturday. The wedding ceremony between Märtha Louise and self-proclaimed shaman Durek Verrett will take place in Geiranger, Norway. Representatives from the Danish royal family will not be present, as confirmed by the communication department to Billed-Bladet, a Danish tabloid.
Princess Märtha Louise, the eldest daughter of the Norwegian royal couple, is not in line to inherit the throne due to the succession laws that were in place at the time of her birth in 1971. The wedding festivities will begin on Thursday evening, with the ceremony scheduled to occur at the historic Union Hotel in Geiranger, where members of the Norwegian royal family, including the King, Queen, Crown Prince, and Crown Princess, are expected to attend, as announced by the Norwegian royal family.
For privacy reasons, the guest list will not be made public, according to the royal family. Additionally, it has been reported by Norwegian broadcaster TV 2 that the Swedish royal couple will also not be among the guests at the wedding. Crown Princess Mette-Marit’s son, Marius Borg Høiby, will not be attending either, as reported by NRK, another Norwegian broadcaster. Høiby, who has recently been involved in a legal matter concerning violence, had already made the decision not to participate prior to the incident. Although he is the son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit, he is not part of the official Norwegian royal house, yet he remains a member of the royal family. Mette-Marit had him before her marriage to Crown Prince Haakon.
