A taxi driver in Vesterbro, a district in Copenhagen, became an unwitting victim of a mischievous practical joke, leading to charges of death threats against three individuals. On Sunday, Copenhagen Police (Københavns Politi) arrested and charged the three involved after they subjected the driver to what was described as a “violent practical joke” intended for social media sharing.
While the incident did not result in serious physical harm, authorities emphasize that they are treating the case with the utmost seriousness. The accused may also face compensation claims if found guilty, due to damage inflicted on the taxi.
Police have not yet disclosed specific details about the nature of the prank. However, they took the opportunity to remind the public of the importance of reporting film shoots in advance, especially when replica weapons are used.
This incident underscores ongoing concerns regarding safety and appropriate conduct during social media pranks, as well as the legal repercussions that can arise from such actions.
