Denmark to Enjoy Last Summer Days Before Weather Shifts, Meteorologist Says

Denmark is facing a couple of warm late summer days, making it the perfect time to bring out the sunscreen and enjoy the last warm rays before the weather changes. According to Bolette Brødsgaard from the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI), the entire country can expect a few mild days on Tuesday and Wednesday, which are likely to be the last summer days of the year. “The summer weather is starting to wind down, and it’s uncertain whether it will return. It could happen in September, but the season is changing,” says Bolette Brødsgaard.

However, the weekend is expected to start less summery in Jutland, with clouds and heavy showers, while the islands of Bornholm and Zealand (Sjælland) can look forward to more sunshine. Temperatures vary across the regions, with Jutland around 18 degrees Celsius (64 degrees Fahrenheit) and Zealand reaching up to 22 degrees Celsius (72 degrees Fahrenheit).

On Tuesday and Wednesday, sunny and warm weather will return, with temperatures ranging between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius (68 to 77 degrees Fahrenheit) across the country. In some areas, it may even get warmer. “These will be lovely late summer days, with temperatures of 20-25 degrees all over the country. In some places, it might even be a bit warmer,” Brødsgaard predicts.

Thursday will bring slightly more clouds, with temperatures between 18 and 20 degrees Celsius (64 to 68 degrees Fahrenheit), and showers are expected to return, starting in Jutland and eventually moving to Zealand. Friday also looks to be wet, but forecasts remain uncertain at this time.

This midweek summer sunshine is a result of a combination of low pressure off the coast of England and high pressure over Germany. This setup creates a southwesterly flow that brings warm air to Denmark, ensuring sunny and dry weather for several days, explains Bolette Brødsgaard.

So seize the opportunity and enjoy the coming days, as after Wednesday, the mild weather may become a rare sight until summer hopefully returns next year.
