A 31-year-old man has denied in court in Glostrup that black rain jackets, hats, and shoes were purchased specifically for a shooting at a hair salon in Rødovre, a suburb of Copenhagen. According to the accused, the clothing was intended to be used as “gang uniforms” rather than for a violent attack. The man explained that he and his gang met at a gas station in Copenhagen the day before the fatal shooting, which claimed the life of a 17-year-old hairdressing student in December 2021.
The meeting at the gas station occurred following a shooting incident at Kaffesalonen, an establishment located on Nørrebrogade, where a member of the NNV group was killed. The accused stated that the group was shocked by the event and considered going to Christiania, a famous alternative community in Copenhagen, in an attempt to strengthen their presence. Since the group was not large enough, the accused and another man went to Føtex, a popular supermarket chain in Denmark, to purchase rain gear that would create the illusion they were more numerous than they actually were.
The shooting at the hair salon took place the day after their gathering, and police investigations revealed that the clothing worn by the perpetrators resembled the items bought by the accused and his associate at Føtex stores in Herlev and Lyngbyvej, both suburbs of Copenhagen. The accused admitted to purchasing the clothing but claimed he passed it on to others and refused to disclose their identities.
The trial against the accused continues, with prosecutors set to present their evidence over several days. A verdict in the case is expected on October 31. Additionally, two other men have also been charged in connection with the attack.
