The government expects significant employment growth over the upcoming year. According to the Economic Report (Økonomisk Redegørelse), which will be published on Friday, employment is projected to increase by 35,000 individuals. This information has been confirmed by Danish media outlets, TV 2 and Børsen. The Economic Report is released three times a year—in May, August, and December—and provides a qualified assessment of the country’s economic situation.
In the previous report from May, the forecast for employment growth was modest, predicting only 13,000 new jobs. Additionally, an anticipated decrease of 18,000 people in employment for the following year has now been revised to a decline of 5,000, based on the latest figures.
Despite revisions to the growth expectations, the government remains optimistic about the economic outlook. The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is expected to grow by 1.9 percent this year, although this figure is lower than the previously expected 2.7 percent. For the next year, the forecast has been adjusted to a growth of 2.2 percent, compared to earlier estimates of 1.8 percent.
Minister of Finance Stephanie Lose (Venstre) will present the new Economic Report at a press conference on Friday.
