It is official: Dot Wessmann, the successful owner of the singer’s pavilion Bakkens Hvile, will showcase her dancing skills on the dance floor in the upcoming season of “Dancing with the Stars” (original Danish title: ‘Vild med dans’). This was revealed by her partner, Morten Messerschmidt, the chairman of the Danish People’s Party (Dansk Folkeparti), on Facebook. Messerschmidt, who is not known for being a regular viewer of the dance program, expressed his excitement about supporting Dot in her new challenge.

Dot Wessmann is not only recognized for her role as the owner of Bakkens Hvile, located at Dyrehavsbakken—a historic amusement park located north of Copenhagen—but she is also a well-known performer in the venue. With nearly five decades of experience in the entertainment industry, she is expected to bring a wealth of experience to the popular TV2 program.

Although TV2 has yet to announce the full list of participants for the 21st season of “Dancing with the Stars,” the weekly magazine Her og Nu has revealed some names. In addition to Dot Wessmann, it is expected that Rachel Ellebye from “Årgang 0” (a Danish reality TV show), reality star Philip May, and actress May Simón Lifschitz will be among the dancers.

The show will also feature new hosts, with Cilia Trappaud and Martin Johannes Larsen taking charge. Trappaud will step in as the new host following Sarah Grünewald’s departure last year. The changes do not stop there; long-time judge Anne Laxholm has announced that she will not return for the new season. It remains unclear whether Nikolaj Hübbe, Sonny Fredie-Pedersen, and Marianne Eihilt will continue as judges for the upcoming season.

The premiere of the new season of “Dancing with the Stars” is set for September, and expectations are already high among both participants and viewers.
