As Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen (Social Democrats) introduced her new ministerial team on the grounds of Amalienborg Palace, security personnel and police swiftly intervened to arrest a man just a few meters from the event. Images from the scene show two security guards holding the man’s arms while police assist in bringing him down to the ground.
The arrest occurred right next to the new ministers, making the incident particularly noteworthy. Copenhagen Police confirmed the arrest, with duty officer Martin Kajbjerg stating that the man was behaving in a manner that created disorder and disturbed public peace. He further explained that a report regarding the incident is being compiled, and the arrested individual will be released after processing, likely facing a fine.
A journalist from B.T., a Danish tabloid newspaper, reported that the man was running toward the ministerial group with a banner in his hands just before he was subdued. The entire episode lasted only 10-15 seconds but was enough to introduce a sense of drama during the otherwise formal introduction of the ministers.
