A serious traffic accident on Seggelund Hovedvej near Christiansfeld resulted in the death of a 51-year-old man from the local area on Thursday afternoon. The Southeast Jutland Police (Sydøstjyllands Politi), which has communicated with Avisen Danmark, confirms that the tragic incident occurred during an overtaking maneuver.

The deceased man was a passenger in a vehicle driven by a 76-year-old woman. They collided head-on with an oncoming car, operated by a 41-year-old woman from Haderslev, who is now in critical condition. The older female driver sustained injuries as well but is not considered to be in life-threatening condition.

The police have already informed the relatives about the tragic incident. The accident has shocked the local community, where many are now gathering to support each other during this difficult time.
