NEW YORK — The U.S. Open, the American tennis championship, will continue to be broadcast on ESPN until 2037, following the announcement of a 12-year contract between the network and the United States Tennis Association (USTA) on Wednesday. The final Grand Slam tournament of the year began on Monday and will run until September 8.
The new agreement expands ESPN’s streaming rights and also includes coverage on ABC for the tournament’s two Sundays. ESPN started airing some U.S. Open matches in 2009, sharing coverage with the previous partner, CBS. However, ESPN took over complete coverage in 2015 under an 11-year agreement.
Fans can look forward to continued strong coverage of one of tennis’s most prestigious tournaments, with even more options to follow the action through streaming and live television.
