A 19-year-old man lost his life on Thursday evening in a tragic accident on Aabenraavej, a road located in southern Denmark. The incident occurred when he attempted to cross the street on foot and was struck by a passenger car. This information was confirmed by the duty officer at the South and South Jutland Police (Syd- og Sønderjyllands Politi).
“The 19-year-old man was crossing the road on foot when he was hit by a passenger vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene,” the duty officer stated. The driver of the car was quickly taken to the hospital for examination but has always been considered out of danger. The police have not pressed charges in connection with the incident.
Reports of the accident came in at 10:30 PM on Thursday. Subsequently, part of Aabenraavej near Holbølmark was closed off for two to three hours while the police managed the situation. The road has since been reopened to traffic, according to statements from the police early Friday morning.
