The Danish Ministry of Finance has recently presented a new assessment of the fiscal space for 2030, now estimated at 38.5 billion Danish kroner (approximately 5.8 billion USD). This amount represents the funds that politicians are expected to utilize for new projects or tax cuts. According to the Ministry’s latest data, there are no changes in the structural balance compared to previous calculations.
In the last assessment from May, the fiscal space was actually larger. However, since then, 6 billion kroner has been allocated for various political initiatives. Among these investments are actions included in the upcoming government budget proposal, which will be unveiled on Friday. One of the main projects is the entrepreneurial initiative titled “A World-Class Entrepreneurial Country” (Et iværksætterland i verdensklasse), alongside several business-oriented measures, including a reduction in gift and inheritance taxes related to the transfer of businesses.
This fiscal forecast is based on the expected expenditure level in 2025, and the information clearly outlined by the Ministry of Finance indicates this future fiscal landscape.
