“Dancing with the Stars” Returns for Its 21st Season
“Dancing with the Stars” (originally titled “Vild med dans” in Danish) is returning with its 21st season, featuring ten Danish celebrities ready to showcase their dancing skills. The new season will premiere on September 20, and after much speculation, the broadcasting network TV 2 has officially introduced the new dance pairs.
Among the participants is 66-year-old cabaret singer Dot Wessman, who will be dancing with newcomer Nikolaj Lund. Lund, a professional dancer, DJ, and producer, brings over 30 years of dance experience despite this being his debut on “Dancing with the Stars.”
Joining the lineup is Rachel Ellebye, known from the TV 2 series “Årgang 0” (translated as “Generation 0”), who will learn the waltz and tango with assistance from “Dancing with the Stars” veteran Thomas Evers Poulsen.
The world of sports is represented by Olympic kayak athlete Victor Gairy Aasmul, who, just a month and a half after competing for a spot in the Danish finals in the K4 kayak category, will take on the challenge of dancing.
Additionally, TV presenters Rasmus Staghøj and Sara Lygum, actors May Lifschitz and Morten Hemmingsen, TV personality Philip May, and radio host Kamal Hassan are also participating. The youngest contender this year is 19-year-old influencer Anna Munch, who has garnered attention on social media platforms like TikTok and YouTube.
This season also brings a change in the hosting role. Cilia Trappaud will replace Sarah Grünewald, who stepped down as host last year. Trappaud will co-host alongside Martin Johannes Larsen. It has not yet been announced who will sit at the judges’ table, but it has been confirmed that long-serving judge Anne Laxholm will not be returning.
“Dancing with the Stars” Season 21 will premiere on Friday, September 20, on TV 2 and TV 2 Play.
