A tragic accident late Thursday evening resulted in the death of a 19-year-old man on Aabenraavej near the village of Holbølmark in Southern Jutland, Denmark. The young man was attempting to cross the road to join a group of friends when he was struck by a car and pronounced dead at the scene, according to duty officer Søren Strægaard from the South and South Jutland Police (Syd- og Sønderjyllands Politi).
The incident occurred around 10:30 PM, and several young people witnessed the fatal event. “Their parents came to take them home,” Søren Strægaard explained regarding the shocked onlookers. He emphasized that the police are ensuring that these witnesses receive the necessary support and assistance.
When the accident happened, the police blocked Aabenraavej between Kongeshøj and Stokkebrovej. The road closures were lifted later that night after police investigations were completed. The driver of the vehicle, a man, was subsequently taken to the hospital for examination, but his injuries were not life-threatening, and he has not been charged in connection with the incident.
