A signal failure has caused significant disruptions on the train line between Aarhus and Hobro on Sunday. Starting from 11:00 AM Sunday and continuing until Monday morning, train operations have been suspended due to issues with the signaling system, according to Banedanmark (Danish Transport Authority).
According to the latest updates, train services are expected to resume Monday morning, with the first train departing from Aarhus at 4:16 AM and from Hobro at 5:18 AM. Information can be found in Rejseplanen (Travel Planner), a service for public transportation in Denmark.
Banedanmark initially attempted to resolve the signal issue around 1:30 PM on Sunday, but a system restart did not rectify the problems. Technicians have been working intensively throughout Sunday but have not succeeded in restoring normal operations.
On the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), Banedanmark reported on Sunday evening around 8 PM that they hoped to resume services around 9:30 PM. However, this schedule could not be maintained, and train operations will not resume until Monday morning.
To address the transportation challenges, replacement buses have been deployed between Aarhus and Hobro so that passengers can still travel between the two cities. Travelers can find updated timetables and information in both Rejseplanen and DSB’s app MitTog (My Train). The last replacement bus departs from Aarhus at 11:40 PM and from Hobro at 12:50 AM.
