On Saturday evening, a group of 20-30 children was threatened while playing football at a playground in Esbjerg, Denmark. According to the South and Southern Jutland Police (Syd- og Sønderjyllands Politi), two men reacted to the children’s play, claiming that the noise was too loud. Around 9 PM, they confronted the children, with one of the men being armed with an air gun.
The incident was reported by the parents of two 14-year-old children, and both men are now charged with making death threats. The police have acknowledged the seriousness of the situation and have decided to carry out a follow-up initiative for community safety.
On Sunday, from 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM, officers will be present at School Park (Skoleparken) in Esbjerg, where the threats occurred. They will offer conversations and provide reassurance to those involved, especially children and young people who witnessed the incident.
On the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), the police emphasized that anyone who feels unsafe or needs to talk about their experience is welcome to approach them. The police hope that their presence will help restore a sense of security in the area and support both children and adults affected by the event.
