A peaceful football match in Esbjerg took an unexpected turn when a group of young boys was suddenly threatened with a gun during their game. The incident, which took place at a multi-sport court, prompted a significant police response from the South and South Jutland Police (Syd- og Sønderjyllands Politi) on Saturday evening.
The police reported that they received multiple calls about the situation, leading to an immediate search in the Skoleparken area. Duty Officer Sune Loklindt stated that two individuals were quickly identified as being armed with a firearm at the scene. It turned out that the two men had been annoyed by the noise from the football game and decided to take matters into their own hands by threatening the boys.
The two suspects were arrested on-site. “Using an air gun as a threat is, of course, a very bad idea,” said Sune Loklindt, emphasizing that the incident could have ended much worse. The two men now face repercussions for their reckless actions. The police operation quickly uncovered the truth behind the potentially dangerous situation and ensured that no one was harmed.
