Violent clashes between fans and police after Brøndby’s defeat to FC Copenhagen

On Sunday afternoon, following Brøndby’s 1-3 defeat to FC Copenhagen at Parken Stadium, tensions escalated in Fælledparken when a small group of Brøndby supporters directed fireworks at police officers. Police Inspector Tommy Laursen from the Copenhagen Police (Københavns Politi) stated that the fans attempted to charge towards the officers in the direction of Jagtvej but were met with resistance and forced back to Østerbrogade.

Fortunately, there are no reports of serious injuries related to the incident. Authorities believe that the agitated fans were trying to reach pubs on Jagtvej, which are known to be frequented by FC Copenhagen supporters.

Simultaneously, during the confrontation in Fælledparken, a 7-Eleven store at Svanemøllen Station was looted. According to Laursen, goods were stolen from the store, but it is still unclear which items were taken and the total amount involved. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the unrest.
