Danish Lotto Winner Claims 18 Million Kroner Jackpot at Local Store

A lucky Dane can now rejoice over a fantastic win of 18 million Danish kroner after Saturday’s Lotto draw. The winning ticket, which was bought at Min Købmand Visby in Bredebo, hit all seven correct numbers, making it the biggest Lotto prize of the year so far. However, the lucky winner has not yet come forward, so if you have purchased a Lotto ticket in Bredebo, it might be a good idea to check if you are the new millionaire.

“It is a pleasure to distribute winnings to happy Danes, and we at Danske Spil (Danish Games) are delighted every time a prize is won in our lotteries. Even though it happens every single week,” stated Malene Mølgaard, CEO of Danske Spil Lotteri, in a press release.

Although 18 million Danish kroner is a considerable sum, there is still a long way to go to reach the highest prize ever won in Lotto. The record was set in 2008 when a lucky Copenhagen resident walked away with a whopping 38,564,007 Danish kroner.
