Denmark’s Top 50 Tourist Attractions Draw 22.5 Million Visitors

The 50 most popular tourist attractions in Denmark attracted a total of 22.5 million visitors last year, according to figures from VisitDenmark. Tivoli in Copenhagen once again tops the list as the most visited attraction with just over four million guests. Combined, the 10 most visited attractions account for just under 11.7 million of the total number of visitors. Dyrehavsbakken takes the second place, while Copenhagen Zoo comes in third. Charlotte Rømer Rassing, Chief Analyst at VisitDenmark, states that the numbers show a great and diverse interest in experiences in Denmark. She highlights that there is a growing interest in the majority of the attractions included on this year’s list.

Compared to 2022, there is an increase of 6.2 percent in visitor numbers in 2023. However, it is difficult to compare the numbers with previous years, as the list of attractions now only includes those with official visitor numbers. This has resulted in fewer attractions on the list than in previous years. For the attractions included on this year’s list, there is data available for both 2022 and 2023, which shows that many have experienced an increase in the number of visitors from 2022 to 2023.

It should be noted that neither Legoland nor BonBon-Land are included in the calculation, as they do not share their visitor numbers. The ten most visited amusement parks collectively had just under 7.8 million visitors, while the ten most visited museums attracted just under 5.2 million guests. Among the ten most visited attractions, three have experienced a decrease in visitor numbers. For example, Faarup Sommerland had a decline of 13.5 percent compared to the previous year.
