MitID login issues resolved by Danish Digitalization Agency

After a period of technical issues Sunday afternoon, Danish citizens can once again log into their MyID accounts. The Agency for Digitisation confirms that the system is back to normal operation. The problems started around 13:51 and lasted until 16:10 when it was announced that MyID was down for some users. This affected access to both public and private services requiring identification through the system. The Agency for Digitisation has not been able to provide the exact cause of the outage or how many citizens were affected by the situation. On the social media platform X, equivalent to Twitter, the agency stated that the supplier had restored normal operation and confirmed that everyone could now use MyID without any issues.

This is not the first time MyID has experienced operational issues. Most recently in February, the Agency for Digitisation reported unstable operation, believed to have been caused by a denial-of-service attack. Although not all citizens experienced problems with MyID during the outage, the incident underscores the importance of stable and secure digital identification systems in Denmark. The Agency for Digitisation continues to monitor and improve the system to prevent similar incidents in the future.
